Davao Light Bill Deposit & Disconnection: What to Know Right Now
There’s a genuinely important, time-sensitive fact in this one: disconnections are currently suspended. Here’s that, plus the standard deposit and reconnection rules for when the suspension ends.

48 hrsstandard payment grace period before disconnection
1 monthbill deposit equivalent required for reconnection
Current as of August 2026: Davao Light has suspended disconnections for unpaid bills covering the August to October 2026 billing periods, for both residential and non-residential customers, following an ERC advisory extending consumer protection measures under Executive Order No. 110.
Reported by SunStar Davao. This is temporary relief, not a waiver — unpaid balances still accrue and become due once the suspension ends.
The Standard Disconnection Rule (Once Suspension Ends)
Outside of a suspension period, payment is due within 48 hours of a disconnection notice (“red bill”) to avoid service being cut. A partial payment, or anything short of full settlement, does not extend that 48-hour window.

Getting Reconnected
1
Pay your total balance
All accounts payable must be settled in full — cash or check, provided you have no history of returned checks in the past 12 months.
2
Pay a fresh bill deposit
Reconnection also requires a bill deposit equivalent to one month’s bill, separate from your outstanding balance.
3
Pay at an accredited center
If your account is already disconnected, payment must be made at an accredited Davao Light Customer Service Center — locations include NCCC Mall VP and NCCC Panacan, among others.
Getting Your Deposit Back
Bill deposit refunds are only processed once an account is inactive or the meter has been physically removed — not simply because you’ve paid down your balance or gone a long stretch without missing a payment.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Are Davao Light disconnections really suspended right now?+
Yes, as of August 2026, covering the August–October 2026 billing periods, per an ERC advisory under EO No. 110. This does not cancel the obligation to pay — it delays disconnection as a consequence.
2. What happens to my unpaid balance during the suspension?+
It continues to accumulate. Davao Light has encouraged customers who can still pay to do so, to avoid a larger balance once the suspension period ends.
3. How long do I have to pay after getting a disconnection notice?+
48 hours under the standard policy — outside of any active suspension period.
4. Does a partial payment stop disconnection?+
No — under the standard policy, only full payment within the 48-hour window prevents disconnection.
5. What do I need to pay to get reconnected?+
Your full outstanding balance plus a new bill deposit equivalent to one month’s bill, paid in cash or check (if you have no returned-check history in the past year).
6. Where do I pay if I’m already disconnected?+
At an accredited Davao Light Customer Service Center, such as NCCC Mall VP or NCCC Panacan — not necessarily through every regular payment channel.
7. When do I get my bill deposit refunded?+
Only when the account becomes inactive or the meter is removed — not automatically after a certain period of good standing.
